The Perfect Sixpence Wedding: Jenna & Bobby’s Colorful Day

We were so privileged to design the florals for Jenna and Bobby’s colorful wedding at The Sixpence in Indianapolis. Their love story began at Ball State University as freshmen and blossomed through their college years, leading to this unforgettable celebration of their love. Here’s a glimpse into their special day, filled with fun, laughter, and vibrant blooms.

Why They Loved The Sixpence Wedding Venue

Jenna and Bobby chose The Sixpence for its charming and versatile space. They loved how the venue could be thoughtfully enhanced without being overdone, perfectly aligning with their vision of a garden party celebration. The bright and bold color palette they selected, featuring pops of pink and blue, contrasted beautifully with the venue's clean and modern style.

As florists, we absolutely love our friends at The Sixpence and are excited for each opportunity to work in the space. Not only do they have plenty of time for the vendor’s setup window, but their staff is amazing, and the cherry on top is the space’s beauty!

Peony Season and the Perfect Spring Wedding

June in Indianapolis can go either way. But Jenna and Bobby had nothing but clear blue skies on their wedding day, and it was nothing short of magical. The perfect weather made an ideal backdrop for their garden party vibe, and the atmosphere was vibrant and full of joy. The best part: peonies were in season and the coral sensation peonies were the perfect pop of color against the bright and airy ambiance of The Sixpence. It truly created a scene straight out of a magazine.

The Aesthic: A Fun and Colorful Wedding

From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted with thoughtful touches that set the tone for a fun and colorful celebration. We were excited to be joined by one of our favorite coordination and planning teams, Creating Joyful Moments, who helped with all these meaningful details.

In the reception space, French blue napkins served as a beautiful contrast to the bold centerpieces. The linens were provided by A Classic Party Rental and paired perfectly with our French blue taper candles, bringing together Jenna and Bobby’s beautiful, cohesive design.

For the personals, the couple took a modern approach. The men wore pocket square boutonnieres while the bridesmaids held mismatched single-variety bouquets. Each bridesmaid's bouquet was made from an ingredient in Jenna’s bridal bouquet, tying all the floral elements together in a unique and meaningful way.

The star of the show was the coral sensation peony, Indiana’s State Flower! And one of our favorites to use in May and June.

Special Touches for Our Clients

The biggest floral state of the day was the custom arch we crafted for Jenna and Bobby. It stretched across the top of the Sixpence pergola, which served as the backdrop for the ceremony.

Our design provided a dramatic and beautiful focal point for their outdoor ceremony at the Sixpence and was perfect for capturing the dip kiss photo that everyone loved. The arch, along with the vibrant florals, added a bold and whimsical touch to the ceremony space.

In addition to the custom arch, we created a special dried floral frame for Jenna and Bobby using blooms from their color palette. This keepsake serves as a beautiful reminder of their wedding day.

We also offered a unique service by creating take-home bouquets for their guests at the end of the night, adding an extra layer of thoughtfulness and personalization to the celebration.

The Couple’s Look

Jenna and Bobby, along with their wedding party, looked absolutely stunning. The couple embraced a modern floral approach that perfectly complemented their style. Jenna’s bridal bouquet was a breathtaking mix of bright and bold flowers, while the bridesmaids carried single-variety bouquets that added a playful and cohesive element to the overall look.
